Feed Additives

Description

This dataset include data for feed additives products used in animal nutrition for purposes of improving the quality of feed and the quality of food from animal origin, or to improve the animals’ performance and health authorised in EU. Feed additives may not be put on the market unless authorisation has been given following a scientific evaluation demonstrating that the additive has no harmful effects, on human and animal health and on the environment. Context: The Feed Additives Regulation (Regulation (EC) No 1831/2003) of September 2003 establishes a common procedure for authorising feed additives and lays down rules for their placing on the market, labelling and use. The regulation applies to all feed additives and premixtures. It does not apply to: - processing aids; - veterinary medicinal products (VMPs) which are regulated by the new Regulation (EU) 2019/6 on veterinary medicinal products that repeals Directive 2001/82/EC
