Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders - Additional potential energy production from ground-connected heat pumps - technical scenario
Description
This map layer is part of the Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders. In this technical scenario, the theoretical, technical maximum with regard to the additional production potential is estimated for ground-connected heat pumps. The available space is defined within which the technology can be used to the maximum to produce energy. This demarcation is achieved through a combination of positive and negative spatial preconditions. We limit ourselves here to the non-built-up area of the built-up area, excluding the protection areas for water catchment areas, non-accessible gardens and areas that already have a ground-connected heat pump. For the estimation of the production potential, use is made of the Database Subsurface Flanders and key figures of Terra Energy. For more background information, see the report. The hotspots in Flanders are presented with a filtered image of the results. The figures per municipality can also be consulted in the attached table.
