French map of the Rhineland 1816-1840 (HKFK)
The map book with the original title ‘Carte topografique des Pays Compris entre la France, les Pays-Bas et le Rhin 1 : 100 000’ was created by reducing the map recording of Tranchot and other French and Bavarian recordings of the Palatinate.
Each of the 15 card sheets in the format 50 cm x 80 cm contains 40 recording sheets of the scale 1: 20 000. The cards were engraved in copper and printed in monochrome. The first edition appeared in 1840, the last continued 4th edition in 1870/71. Sheets 5 to 15 are available as monochrome copies.
