Map of Physiographic Units of the Andalusian Coast: 2003
Description
The Map of Physiographic Units represents exclusively the units genetically associated with coastal processes such as wind farms, marshes, coastal platforms, etc. Additionally, units of fluvial and fluviocoluvial origin have been included, taking into account that through them the sedimentary continent/coast connection occurs. On the other hand, when its morphological entity was adequate to the work scale, some terrace systems and representative fluviocoluvial formations have been included. Finally, units of anthropogenic origin are also included; urban, infrastructure, etc.; units that despite not being physiographic, are of great relevance in the Andalusian coast, given their extension and their ability to alter the physiognomy of the units that come into contact with them. The associated database proposes a hierarchical coding that will be the basis for the extraction of derived cartographies, structured in three fundamental levels of aggregation. The average scale of the map can be set at 1:50,000, although it must be considered that the scale for the capture of information has usually been 1:25,000 and occasionally higher, which allows, from the point of view of the screen, a maximum scale of 1:15,000 and a minimum of 1:100,000.
