Description
The information contained in this dataset is a raster with the thick-scale Batymetric Position Index (BPI) of the study area with a resolution of 50 m.
The area covered by the data provided corresponds to the Avilés Underwater Cannon System, which includes SCI ESZZ12003.
Los datos brutos que constituyen este ráster se adquirieron durante los años 2010, 2011 y 2012, gracias a las campañas oceanográficas INDEMARES AVILÉS 0410 y 0511, a bordo del B/O Vizconde de Eza, INDEMARES AVILÉS 0412, a bordo del B/O Ramón Margalef e INDEMARES AVILÉS 0912 a bordo del B/O Ángeles Alvariño. During 2019 and 2020, part of the data was reprocessed with the latest techniques available in processing software and new digital elevation models were acquired, improving spatial resolution and data quality, and from them the Bathymetric Position Indices were obtained.
The geographical information collected is stored in a spatial database.
The reprocessing works have been financed thanks to the LIFE IP INTEMARES Project (LIFE-IP INTEMARES - Integrated, Innovative and Participatory Management for N2000 network in the Marine Environment - LIFE15 IPE/ES/000012). This integrated project has the challenge of laying the foundations to effectively manage the marine areas of the Natura 2000 Network and complete the work and progress promoted within the framework of the LIFE + INDEMARES project, which managed to take a great step in terms of declaring new areas.
