Description
This dataset is related to Kela’s statistics database Kelasto’s dynamic reports Recipients of parental allowances and benefits paid in 2022 and recipients of parental allowances and daily allowances paid 2006-2021.
The data contain information on the number of persons receiving parental allowance, the number of days reimbursed and the amounts of benefits paid in euros. The data are classified by sex, age and municipality of residence and by benefits.
In 2022, the family leave reform brought changes to parental allowances. The benefits under the new Act are pregnancy allowance, special pregnancy allowance, parental allowance and partial parental allowance. They are payable if the child’s calculated date of birth is 4.9.2022 or later. Benefits under the old Act (SVL 1224/2004) consisted of maternity allowance, special maternity allowance, paternity allowance, parental allowance and partial parental allowance. Until the end of 2024, these benefits can be paid to families with whom parental allowance began before the reform entered into force.
The data contain data on a monthly basis from 2018 and on an annual basis starting from 2006. From 2022 onwards, annual data will be available, from which annual data can also be extracted.
