Water erosion hazards – Water erosion hazards (RxKxS)
Description
In the data set Hazard Levels, the spatial distribution of the potential soil erosion hazard by water on Brandenburg’s agricultural land is shown. The determination was based on DIN19708 (https://dx.doi.org/10.31030/2676773), the underlying method of which is referred to as the General Soil Abrasion Equation (ABAG). The risk of erosion is shown in a spatial resolution of 5x5 meters. The potential risk of erosion by water, also referred to as a natural erosion hazard, results from the classification of the potential soil removal according to DIN19708 in hazard levels. The potential soil removal from water results from the combination of the rain erosivity factor R, the soil erodibility factor K and the slope inclination factor S. The hazard is reported in seven stages from 0 (no hazard) to 6 (extremely high hazard).
