Inventory of cultural objects of national and regional importance

Description

The inventory contains cultural objects of national and regional importance, which must be specially protected in the event of armed conflict. The legal basis for this is the Hague Convention of 14 May 1954 on the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict. Safeguarding and respecting - these two main requirements must be observed in the protection of cultural goods in accordance with the 1954 Hague Convention. The cultural goods were collected by the cantons in cooperation with the Federal Commission for the Protection of Cultural Property (EKKGS). The Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property of National and Regional Importance was revised in 2009 after the 1988 and 1995 editions. Following a renewed revision in 2017-2020, it was approved and issued in a revised version in 2021. Note from the specialist office (Monument Care Canton of Aargau): The older stands (up to and with the status 2009) should be used with caution, they may contain errors. The state with the technical timeline 1.1.2024 contains both the A-objects of national importance as well as the B-objects of regional importance of the canton of Aargau. The responsibility for the A-objects lies with the Confederation, the responsibility for the B-objects lies with the Canton of Aargau.
