Toilets Accessibility of urban green spaces
Description
The indicator describes the accessibility of nearby and larger public green spaces, as measured by the population living within walking distance, relative to the total population of the respective city (central and large cities from 50.000 inhabitants). The indicator determines the proportion of the population that can be found within walking distance of public green spaces close to housing and quarters. Green spaces are multifunctional and are of great importance for the surrounding population due to their climate function (air filtration, cold air generation), recreation function (sports, leisure, nature experience) and flood protection function (water storage, retention area). The indicator addresses both day-to-day recreation at walking distance as well as extensive leisure activities in the indirect neighbourhood environment or local recreation at weekends.
