Description
In accordance with the circular of 30 May 2008 on the application of Decree No 2007-882 of 14 May 2007 on certain
areas subject to environmental constraints and amending the Rural Code, codifies under Articles R. 114-1 a R. 114-10, the area
catchment feeding (ACA) is defined on hydrological or hydro-geological bases.The feeding area of a catchment
drinking water (surface water intake or groundwater abstraction)corresponds to the surfaces on which water infiltrates or
runoff participates in the supply of water resources in which the harvest is being taken, this resource being currently
used for drinking water supply or likely to be used in the future.Thus, the AAFC corresponds to:- for a work of
removal from drinking water from surface water: to the sub-basin upstream of the water intake(s)
possibly complete by the surface concerned by the supply of external groundwater to this watershed (e.g. base tablecloth or
tablecloth for watercourses),- for a collection work intended for drinking water in groundwater: in the
feeding basin or water points (place of points on the surface of the soil that contribute to the feeding of the catchment).
Thenotations of the supply area and of the catchment basin (AAFC, LAC) are hereassed as
synonyms.In the case of several water intakes (surface water) or water points (ground water) close to each other,
the AAFC will cover all the intakes/water points of the plant to which they are connected.
drinking water abstraction is the advance term for water abstraction for AEP use. It does not correspond to a physical reality
unique (source, drilling, water point, water intake...). The Sandre leterme of drinking water catchment corresponds to a ‘Occupation’
having as ‘use of water’ (see Nomenclature No 481) code 5 (i.e. ‘AEP + DOMESTIC USE’) or its
sub-levels (‘5A’: ranging from ‘Collective Food’ to ‘5B’: The AAFC does not have a regulatory text.
