Description
The Federal Environment Agency operates eight air quality monitoring stations, which form the Austrian background measurement network. These are used to determine background pollution, long-distance freight and the trend in air quality in Austria. The report shall include the results of the measurements in 2007 and the trend of recent years; In addition, special measurement campaigns are also presented. The statutory limit values for air pollutants were complied with at all measuring points. Exceedances of the target values for ozone for the protection of human health and vegetation occurred at all measuring points, the information threshold was exceeded at the measuring points Illmitz, Pillersdorf, Enzenkirchen and Vorhegg. Overall, Austria recorded a lower level of pollution in 2007 than in recent years.
