Horn corals

Description

The data set shows the occurrences of horn corals (soft bottom and hard-bottom coral forests) observed on MAREANO cruises. The most common species of horn corals that form soft bottom coral forests are Isidella lofotensis and Radicipes gracilis. The most common species of horn corals forming hard-bottom coral forests are Paragorgia arborea, Primnoa resedaeformis, Paramuricea placomus and Swiftia (in the Mareano region Swiftia has not been proven with certainty). The data set is shown as point data of individual instances with horn corals based on visual observations along video transects where MAREANO has collected video material.
