Dataset Remscheider Voting Districts
Description
The dataset contains polygons of the 54 voting districts in Remscheid. A voting district is a local demarcation (organizational unit) for conducting political elections. The voting districts are to be defined according to the statutory provisions (municipal election law/Landtagwahlgesetz) to the local conditions in such a way that all eligible voters are facilitated as much as possible in the vote. Each voting district is assigned a polling station to carry out the electoral process. Changes are made by the Local Election Committee if it requires changes in population distribution or legal requirements. Last time in Remscheid on 26 February 2020, adjustments were decided on the basis of a judgment of the Constitutional Court for the State of NRW of 20 December 2019 (VerfGH 35/19). The following factual information is stored on the polygon surfaces: Voting district number, voting district name, constituency number, constituency name, (abbreviated) text string to the voting district.
