Arbetarskyddsinspektions i Finland 2017-2020
Description
The material publication produced in a joint project between occupational safety and health authorities and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health is the first open data publication on occupational safety and health enforcement. The material covers inspections from 2017 to 2020, and the total number of workplace inspections in the material is nearly 90,000. There are nearly 38,000 employers and more than 63,000 jobs checked.
Publishing the data to the Työelämätieto service is part of the OSH enforcement's plan to publish open data. Open data is based on the accepted principles of administrative openness, information sharing, interoperability and sharing. The principles for opening up information have been approved in the Government Resolution on improving the availability and promoting the re-use of public sector digital data (3 March 2011).
What the metrics show
The data consists of inspection data from occupational safety and health inspections in 2017-2020. The indicators enable the comparison of the number of matters inspected in the context of occupational safety and health inspections by industry and category, and they also provide information on the legality of the matters inspected. If the matter to be inspected is not in accordance with the law at the workplace, the occupational safety and health inspector issues an obligation to do so.
