Maritime Delimitation – External Limit of the Territorial Sea (12 miles)
Description
In accordance with Article 3 of UNCLOS, the outer boundary of the territorial sea is 12 nautical miles from the baselines. It also corresponds to the inner boundary of the contiguous zone and the exclusive economic zone.
The objects of the theme “External Limit of the Territorial Sea” are derived from Shom calculations and are published by decree of the French Republic. Some of these limits have not yet been the subject of a decree.
