Austria's Annual Air Emission Inventory 1990-2006
Description
In the report ‘Austria’s Annual Air Emission Inventory 1990-2006’, the Federal Environment Agency presents the trend of air pollutants for which national emission ceiling targets for 2010 have been set. The basis for this is the NEC Directive (National Emissions Ceilings), which has been transposed into national law with the Emissions Ceilings Act-Air. The results of the Austrian Air Pollution Inventory show a decrease of 1.4% for nitrogen oxides between 2005 and 2006. Emissions of sulphur dioxide (SO2) increased by 6.8% and non-methane volatile hydrocarbons (NMVOC) by 5.4%. Ammonia emissions (NH3) remained constant (–0.1 %) over the same period. Overall, emissions of NOx and NMVOC in 2006 are above the 2010 targets and are already below those of SO2 and NH3.
