River protection system - Main waters and floodplains
Description
Digital national overview of the skin waters of the Lower Saxony River Basin Protection System (FGSS). They represent the respective river type of a natural-spatial region in the catchment area of a connecting water. They shall be protected and renaturalised, including selected secondary waters, in such a way that the species and biotope diversity typical under near-natural conditions can be re-established along their entire flow path. They are the actual core waters of natural and river protection in Lower Saxony, where renaturation measures are primarily implemented and promoted within the framework of the river programme. The presentation takes place including the demarcated valley meadows as a surface theme.
