Groundwater subsidence funnels of lignite mining
Description
The largely contiguous groundwater subsidence funnel of the opencast mines is an area with relatively short-term groundwater level changes. Since about 1990, the areas with groundwater rises have been predominant on a pro rata and increasing basis. The rise in the groundwater level accordingly reduces the thickness of the groundwater cover. The lowering funnel limit shown corresponds to that of 1995.
