Groundwater reduction hopper of lignite mining
Description
The largely contiguous groundwater reduction funnel of open-cast mines is an area with relatively short-term groundwater level changes. Since about 1990 there has been a pro rata and increasingly predominant area with groundwater rises. The rise in the groundwater level accordingly reduces the thickness of the groundwater cover. The lowering funnel limit shown corresponds to that of 1995.
