One-way streets Wuppertal

Description

The data set includes the real and fake one-way streets in the urban area of Wuppertal as an excerpt from the Wuppertal traffic model. (In the case of a fake one-way street, entry into the street is only allowed from one direction, but both directions of travel are permitted within the street.) The Wuppertal traffic model is a node-edge model of the road network, the actually area-wide one-way streets are therefore represented in this data set in a simplified way by the central axes of the associated roads. The permissible direction of travel or entry is opposite to the direction of travel of the line geometries. The geometric position of the nodes of the traffic model was adapted to the Digital Basic Map DGK in 2005. All large-scale Wuppertal geodata can therefore be used as a background map for a visualization of the data set. For each line element, the attribute RAD_FREE specifies whether the one-way street is open to cyclists in both directions. The occasional updates to the database are initiated, if necessary, by means of change notifications from the Roads and Transport Department to the Surveying, Cadastral Office and Spatial Data Department, where they are promptly incorporated into the database. The ESRI shapefiles, KML and GeoJSON files provided as open data under the CC BY 4.0 license are updated weekly in an automated process.
