Register of public areas of the City of Helsinki
Description
The Register of Public Areas (Ylre) is the urban environment industry system of the City of Helsinki, which contains information on the city’s street and green areas. The material is maintained for the use of the urban environment sector and as a rule it does not cover the assets of other public areas under the responsibility of the City of Helsinki’s administrative authorities or institutions. The data in the Register of Public Areas is used to order maintenance in street and park areas in Helsinki. The data in the register are used, for example, in the reporting of the activities of the street and parks department and in the property management of public areas.
The data includes the location and classification of street and green areas in assets based on, for example, the intended use or functionality. The material and model information of the objects is also included. The data includes maintenance and maintenance classes for street and green areas, as well as duty-holders for site maintenance and winter maintenance. Some sites also store owner and rental information.
Ylre data is published as a WFS service divided into four different map layers: street areas, green areas, parts of the street area and parts of the green area. Street areas and green areas contain extensive regional geometry. The regional division is largely based on town plan entries. Street and green parts focus on the content of regional geometry in street and green areas. Street and green parts can be spatial, linear or point-like geometries that attach to street areas and green areas. Regional street or park areas may include, for example, a roadway, a park corridor or a planting area. Lined parts include, for example, different fences or walls. The parts stored as points are often furniture or equipment, such as benches, play equipment or waste containers.
The Ylre data of the WFS service is updated once a day at night, so the data provided by the service is the status of the previous day from the register. The coordinate system of the data is ETRS-GK25 (EPSG: 3879).
