Digital datasets in archaeological field studies – current state and development needs
Description
The purpose of the study is to define what is meant by digital archaeological materials, who processes and produces them, in what form and how the materials are stored. Efforts have been made to gather information that will be essential for the long-term preservation of digital data in the future. The background material for the study is a survey commissioned by the National Board of Antiquities in spring 2019 on digital materials for different actors in the field. 11 people responded to the survey and the survey was supplemented by a few additional interviews in December 2019.
