Housing density per ha - Flanders - state 2013

Description

This map indicator gives an estimate of the percentage of 'houses' per hectare. As a proxy of 'dwellings', 'buildings on residential plots' are used. The area occupied by ‘residential buildings’ is calculated per hectare, a combination of class (19) ‘buildings’ from the land use database (level 1) and ‘residential plots’ from the land use database (Poelmans et al., 2021). All individual buildings that are located on a residential (or inhabited) plot are charged, because the method does not allow to distinguish between the house itself and any other buildings on the plot (garden storage, garage, other (additional) buildings).
