Description

The report ‘Asbestos – Materials for Waste Management’ is a background document for the Austrian Federal Waste Management Plan. This volume of materials provides an overview of • the asbestos waste streams in Austria, • the properties of asbestos and its harmfulness, • the occurrence of asbestos in building materials, household goods and other products, • the legal provisions and instructions for the health and environmental protection of asbestos-containing goods, • the legal provisions and instructions for the treatment and disposal of asbestos waste. The focus of the report is on the presentation of the instructions for action a) for the renovation of buildings with asbestos-containing building materials, b) for the handling and disposal of asbestos-containing waste.
