Cycle traffic concept Kreis Viersen

Description

On 26 September 2019, the cycle traffic concept for the district of Viersen was adopted by the district council. The concept was developed, among other things, together with the district-affiliated cities and municipalities, and represents a climate protection sub-concept. The aim of this concept is to promote everyday cycling in the district. This data set contains the network concept for everyday cycling developed and defined for the first time throughout the district from the cycling concept. Different bike-related criteria lead to an evaluation in 3 path categories by weighting and an overall consideration of all criteria: Main cycle paths, side cycle paths and supplementary cycle paths. Main cycle paths were defined for overall very good and good cycling connections; in the overall view, routes rated as satisfactory connections were classified as secondary cycle paths. Complementary cycle paths have been defined for cycle routes that are considered to be sufficiently defined in the overall assessment. The cycling concept and the data set will no longer be updated.
