Bottom types from sea measurement
Description
The data set consists of over 62,000 data points from Norwegian fjords and coastal areas. The data points have been collected by the Norwegian Mapping Authority’s maritime division in connection with depth mapping. The data points indicate which type of bottom one can expect (e.g. whether there are coarse or fine-grained sediments). The distribution of sediments at the bottom is closely linked to the physical conditions and tells a lot about the underwater landscape, currents, wave washing and sedimentary processes.
