swissEO NDMIz: NDMI anomaly
Description
Note map for the anomaly of the NDMI (Normalized Difference Moisture Index) compared to the reference period since 2017 based on satellite data (Sentinel-2) with a spatial resolution of ten meters. The index anomaly indicates a change in biomass and/or water content within vegetation. NDMI increases can be triggered by growth and increased productivity, whereas NDMI decreases are usually the result of management or natural disturbances (storm damage, drought, insect damage, etc.) and indicate a reduced vitality or stress situation for the vegetation. This dataset was developed for the federal drought portal. Contains modified Copernicus Sentinel data.
