Hazard warning area large-area subsidence areas
Description
A large-scale depression takes place in the basin of Bad Reichenhall (Starzmann 1979:114). The demarcation of this subsidence area was carried out on the basis of the site plan in this publication and on the basis of geological and tectonic conditions. Since the cited levellings do not cover the entire Reichenhall basin, the possible lowering area has been extended to the potential valley areas affected by lowerings, in part with a safety surcharge.
For a local development, the reduction there is usually of no importance. Only in the case of large and sensitive structures, damage caused by differences in settlement cannot be ruled out. Subsoil and foundation reports must take this particular problem into account, if necessary.
Large-scale reductions are also known from the area around the Grögern pond in Bayerisch Gmain. This area was demarcated on the basis of the file at the LfU. The documentation available to the LfU does not fully cover the reduction area. A demarcation, especially to the southwest, is therefore only provisional. An even wider extension of the subsidence area is possible, but there are no concrete indications for this. In any case, in the Grögern Weiher subsidence area, it is recommended to prepare ground and foundation reports that take this problem into account.
