Thuringian Bird Train Card
Description
The map of the migratory bird rest areas is a partial representation of the Thuringian bird migration map. It represents avifaunistich significant resting and wintering areas, especially for migratory species of water and prey. On the one hand, the data base is based on an expert assessment of volunteer ornithologists and specialist groups and on the other hand from data from technical project support. All areas are regularly visited and the results of observation are evaluated against the background of the literature published annually. The division is divided into local and supraregionally important areas. The delimitation of the geometries is usually based on features visible in the terrain. The attribute contains information on the most important species groups/species and train times. The map has been updated annually since 2008 on the basis of the data collection of the Thuringian State Office for the Environment, Mining and Nature Conservation/Vogelschutzwarte Seebach.
