Accessibility of the islands 2007
Description
The data is an estimate of the accessibility of islands, which indicates the extent of human activity, produced with the help of spatial data modelling. Accessibility or its indirect indication includes transport connections, electrification, mobile network coverage and distance to significant population centres. Only existing spatial data sets have been used to produce the data, and field verification has not been carried out. The results obtained have been classified as reasonable in categories 1 (poor accessibility) to 5 (very good accessibility). The material was produced by Metsähallitus (2007) and compiled in connection with the Interreg IIIB-funded BALANCE project.
