ISO 15836:2009 Dublin Core Metadata Element Set
Description
In principle, the Dublin Core format can describe anything at any level of precision. The standard is very flexible and locally expandable, unlike the MARC libraries. In public administration, Dublin Core plays an important role in describing documents and, for example, university theses and universities of applied sciences. It can also be applied to a wide range of local projects instead of self-developed metadata solutions. (31.8.2011)
