Geological 3D model new line DD-Prague 2015
Description
The geological model represents the sequence of the most important geological units in the area around the planned new railway line between Dresden and Prague in a three-dimensional space. The geological model was prepared as part of an EUKOM study by the TU Bergakademie Freiberg in 2015. The model should support the planning work in preparation for the construction of the new railway line, especially from an engineering geological point of view. The new railway line DD-Prague, which is part of the expansion of the Trans-European Network (TEN), includes joint work of the Free State of Saxony and the Czech Republic. The model formed the basis for the following Interreg Va project (“cross-border cooperation for the development of railway transport in Saxony-Czech Republic”). In this project, the 2015 model was actalised or updated with new data in the southern cross-border area. The model of the EUKOM study was created as a GOCAD model in version 2015/5 and includes six detailed areas.
