Expanding Effective Contraceptive Options (EECO) Evaluation of the Caya Diaphragm Pilot in Benin

Description

The Expanding Effective Contraceptive Options (EECO) project, led by Catalyst Global (formerly WCG Cares), is designed to support the introduction of new and/or improved contraceptive methods in USAID partner countries within the context of informed choice. In Benin, EECO partnered with Population Services International (PSI) and their local affiliate, L'Association Béninoise pour le Marketing Social et la Communication pour la Santé (ABMS), to pilot the introduction of the Caya Diaphragm in the private sector. Following introduction, EECO conducted operational research with women 6-months post-adoption of Caya. The primary objectives of the quantitative survey within the operational research were to examine use, including continuation, and acceptability of the Caya Diaphragm. The pilot began in Benin in 2020, and data was collected for the operational study in 2021.
