Description
In 2014, a total of 37 excursions were conducted, of which 16 were day and night moth excursions. This results in over 1700 found data, new species have been added at each site. The current state of play in the field of day and night butterfly research now yields 1,116 species from 13,357 found data at the end of 2014. Nearly 70,000 specimens were observed and determined for this purpose
Especially worth mentioning are finds of red catocalen (eye moth), Poecilocampa alpina, Echromius ocellea, yellow ring falter, as well as other species.
The discovery of a gold owl in the Langgries represents a small sensation.
Heinz Habeler is responsible for research, but data is also collected by Benjamin Wiesmair, Herbert Kerschbaumsteiner, Christina Remschak and Veronika Neuherz. All found data are included in the biodiversity database of the national park, which now contains a total of 127,500 datasets.
