This dataset captures data collected from 23 SDP management staff/senior health providers on SDP characteristics and service provision, including a review of service statistics from the 12 months preceding the evaluation to assess uptake of youth-friendly health services (YFHS) in Senegal. Six regions were included in this assessment of youth-friendly services: Kaolack, Kédougou, Kolda, Matam, Saint-Louis, and Sédhiou. A total of 12 districts were purposively selected for inclusion in the study, based on the criteria of having at least one YFHS SDP within the district. All known service delivery points that were found to be operating and functioning at the time of the assessment (23) were included in the study. |

This dataset captures data collected through a household survey from 2,400 young people aged 10–24 years to determine their knowledge and use of youth-friendly health services (YFHS). The study used a multistage cluster sampling design. Twelve districts in six regions in Senegal (Kaolack, Kédougou, Kolda, Matam, Saint-Louis, Sédhiou) were purposively selected for inclusion in the study. In each district, five localities were randomly selected using probability proportional to size; in each locality, households were selected using the point of origin, code of the day method. At the household level, if more than one young person met the inclusion criteria, a list of the eligible youth along with their birthdays was made. The young person whose birthday was closest in the future was selected for participation. |

This dataset captures data collected from 180 clients aged 10–24 years exiting from youth-friendly health services (YFHS) in Senegal to determine their satisfaction with services. Background characteristics (age, sex, education, marital status, and number of children) were also collected. Those interviewed were systematically selected until a maximum of 10 was reached, with purposive efforts to include youth of both sexes and of different age groups. When the maximum number of 10 clients was not reached due to low turnout, other facilities were oversampled to compensate. All known service delivery points that were found to be operating and functioning at the time of the assessment (23) in the 12 districts were included in the study. |
