Description
The register of voting rights is kept and maintained for the purpose of conducting elections and voting in accordance with the electoral legislation (elections to the National Assembly, elections of the President of the Republic, local elections, election of deputies from the Republic of Slovenia to the European Parliament, holding referendums) and at the same time provide the possibility of support for voters in the exercise of the referendum and popular initiative. The voting rights register is the basis for drawing up electoral registers, entering special methods of exercising the right to vote and issuing voting cards.
The following data are processed in the voting rights register:
—the personal name;
—EMU, date of birth and sex;
—citizenship;
—permanent residence or, for citizens of the European Union, also temporary residence;
—detention of the right to vote or restrictions on the exercise of the right to vote;
—the right of a citizen of the European Union to vote and to terminate it;
—the suspension of the right to vote of a citizen of the Republic of Slovenia for elections to the European Parliament in the Republic of Slovenia;
—election rights of citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, members of the autochthonous Italian or Hungarian national community;
—election rights of citizens of the Republic of Slovenia, members of the Roma community;
In addition to personal data, the voting rights register also contains data on:
—title for the exercise of the right to vote;
—certificate of registration of residence or permanent residence permit;
—the manner in which the right to vote is exercised;
—the date of issue and the type of voting card issued;
—the address for sending the electoral card;
— unsuccessfully served election cards sent by post abroad
—support of voters in accordance with Article 16 b of the Referendum and People’s Initiative Act (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No 26/07 official consolidated text)
—support of voters in accordance with the Local Elections Act, the Presidential Elections Act and the Act on Elections to the National Assembly.
