Register of citizens of the Republic of Slovenia for the purpose of providing consular assistance or protection
Description
For the purpose of providing consular assistance and support to citizens of the Republic of Slovenia abroad and protecting their interests, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs collects data on Slovenian citizens who voluntarily decide to forward the travel programme and contact details to the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs before travelling. This information may also be obtained from family members to the extent that they cannot be obtained from the individual and only where this is necessary for the protection of the life or health of the individual and the protection of the best interests of the child. Data are kept as shown in the form ‘Travel data abroad’. The above data shall be used exclusively for the purposes referred to in Article 29a of the Foreign Affairs Act and shall be destroyed at the end of the journey. In the event that the consular service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides consular assistance upon request, the data retention period shall be in accordance with Article 29a of the Foreign Affairs Act.
