Records of diplomatic, consular and service cards issued
Description
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues diplomatic or service cards to accredited members of diplomatic missions, international organisations and representations of international organisations in the Republic of Slovenia and their family members in accordance with international treaties applicable to the Republic of Slovenia. Heads of Consulate and Members
consular staff, members of their families and honorary consular officers shall be issued with consular or service cards. Cards are public documents proving the identity and special status of the holder. The issued cards are also a permit for a temporary stay of an alien in the Republic of Slovenia. In exceptional cases, persons who are citizens of the Republic of Slovenia or have permanent residence in the Republic of Slovenia shall be issued with cards only if they are granted privileges and immunities under international or national law of the Republic of Slovenia. Cards shall be issued with a validity of up to four years, but not longer than the validity of the holder’s passport.
The card shall contain the following information: the holder’s personal name, date and place of birth of the holder, nationality, function of the holder, title of representation, handwritten signature of the holder, photograph of the holder, date of issue of the card, expiry date of the card and card number. In order to provide information on applications and cards issued and to carry out its responsibilities, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs shall keep and maintain records containing: the register of card applications, the register of issued cards, the register of missing cards, the card application file, the file of the annexes to the card application.
