On April 15, 1945, the capital was decorated in national colours. Posters announce the event: the Grand Duchess CHARLOTTE returns to the Grand Duchy. At Findel soldiers are there to provide protection and order service. Minister of State Pierre DUPONG arrives by car and greets the American generals present. An aircraft arrives at the end of the runway and lands. The door opens and the Sovereign appears, the Prime Minister helps him down. Prince FELIX, Prince JEAN and M. BECH descended in turn. The Grand Duchess greets the officials who come to welcome her and then leaves the airfield in a convertible car. The procession stops in the middle of the Adolphe Bridge where the Echevinal College, led by Mr. Emile HAMILIUS, officially welcomes the rulers who cross the city under the vivas. The Grand Duchess greets the crowd from the balcony of the Palace and then returns inside. In front of the calls of the crowd she returns, accompanied by Prince FELIX.
