MHS Level 1B - NOAA - Global

Description

The Microwave Humidity Sounder (MHS) is a 5 channel instrument used to provide input to the retrieval of surface temperatures, emissivities, and atmospheric humidity. In combination with AMSU-A information it can also be used to process precipitation rates and related cloud properties, as well as to detect sea ice and snow coverage. From 2 November 2023, the NOAA-19 MHS level 1B data (provided in 3-minute granules) are no longer available. These data are, instead, distributed as full dump data through the Global NOAA ATOVS L1 service.
