AVHRR Atmospheric Motion Vectors (BUFR) - Metop - Polar
Description
Winds at all heights below the tropopause in the polar regions (latitudes higher than 55ยบ), derived from the METOP AVHRR instrument IR 10.8 channel. Atmospheric motion vectors (AMVs) are a valuable observation type for providing dynamical information for forecast models.
Metop-A data are available in the Data Centre up to 15/11/2021.
