Energy input data and scenarios
Description
The Federal Environment Agency calculated GHG emission scenarios by 2030 on the basis of basic energy economic data as a basis for the discussion on national climate protection policy and on the fulfilment of the reporting obligation within the framework of the monitoring mechanism: The WEM scenario contains only measures already implemented, the WAM scenario also includes measures under discussion, e.g. from the Energy Strategy or the negotiating groups on the Climate Change Act. Only in the WAM scenario the national targets (1,100 PJ final energy consumption; 34 % share of renewable energy sources; —16 % GHG) for 2020. In addition to the main scenarios (average 1.5 % economic growth per annum), sensitivity scenarios were calculated at 2.5 % p.a. and 0.8 % p.a. and adjusted energy prices.
