Inertia, Nordic Synchronous Area

Description

The inertia reflects the rotating mass of the active production units. The unit is GWs. Price area DK1 is not part of the Nordic Synchronous Area. The inertia estimate for all Nordic countries is based on a sum product of the inertia constant of large synchronous power plants (connected to the transmission grid) and their rotation speed (50 Hz = 3000 revolutions per minute). They are only counted when they are synchronized to the network (i.e. in operation). This means that our estimate does not include potential production synchronized to medium and low voltage, as well as contributions from consumption at all voltage levels.
