Description
Energinet makes daily procurement of manuel frequency restoration reserves (mFRR), on an hourly capacity market. This site provides market-related information for the balancing capacity market, which runs every morning. Here, you can find details on requested demand, procured volumes, and reserve prices across different directions and price areas per hour.
**Note:** The demand and procured volume may not match exactly. Some of the demand can be covered by other TSOs and likewise, the procured volume may help meet other TSOs’ needs. This is managed by the platform algorithm in the Nordic mFRR capacity market.

**Update frequency:** The dataset is usually updated between 9 and 9.30 am CET.
At November 19 2024, Denmark, Sweden, and Finland transitioned from national markets to a trilateral mFRR capacity market. The market operates on a common Nordic platform, enabling the exchange of mFRR balancing capacity across bidding zones.
Since January 2025, mFRR capacity demand is determined daily via dynamic dimensioning based on forecasts. If forecasts underestimate the need, Energinet may initiate an extra auction to secure sufficient reserves.
