Ecological network Natura 2000 of the Republic of Croatia – INSPIRE
Description
Spatial database containing data on Natura 2000 ecological network areas in the Republic of Croatia. The spatial data consists of 745 polygon areas of conservation important for species and habitat types (POVS and PPOVS) and 38 Polygon Areas of Conservation Important for Birds (POP). The proposal of the Natura 2000 ecological network for Croatia has been prepared on the basis of the processing of collected data on the distribution of species and habitat types from the Appendices of the Birds and Habitats Directives. The proposal was amended in 2015 based on the conclusions of the biogeographical seminar for the Republic of Croatia. The Natura 2000 ecological network was officially proclaimed the Ecological Network Regulation (NN No 124/2013) and was then supplemented by the Decree amending the Organic Network Regulation (NN105/15). In 2019, a new Regulation on the ecological network and competences of public institutions for the management of ecological network areas (OG 80/19) was adopted, which, in addition to supplementing the areas of the Natura 2000 network in the Republic of Croatia, defined the management for each area. In October 2023, this Regulation was complemented by a Regulation amending the Ecological Network Regulation and the competences of public institutions for the management of ecological network areas (119/23).
This layer contains the boundaries of the Natura 2000 ecological network area based on the applicable regulations (Regulation on the ecological network and competences of public institutions for the management of ecological network areas, OG 80/19, 119/23).
