Description

This dynamic service is a compilation of grant awards from the following EPA programs: EJ Collaborative Problem-Solving Cooperative Agreement, EJ Government to Government Program, EJ Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Centers Program, EJ Thriving Communities Grantmaking Program, IRA Community Change Grants Program, and EJ Small Grants Program. The award information is sourced from EPA’s NextGen Grants System (NGGS). Grant project officers use NGGS to record new awards and track information, including project descriptions, award amounts, and place of performance. Please note that although the service is dynamic, there may be a gap between the time of the award press release and the time the award appears in NGGS. As for place of performance denoted by the dots on the map, these reflect centroids of the geographies identified by the project officers. Specific geographies associated with individual awards can be found in the POP_GEOMETHOD field. The vintage of the data shows all awards since January 2021. This geospatial dataset contains points that depict the locations of and information about environmental justice grant places of performance. EPA grants are categorized as "environmental justice" grants if the program code is 1 of 43 environmental justice related codes. These codes are then divided into 5 categories: Community, EJ, Land, Tribal, and Water.
