Air quality measurements in Austria 2020 - Annual Report
Description
The annual report documents the results of the air quality measurement of the federal states and the Federal Environment Agency for the year 2020. For the pollutants NO2, PM10, PM2.5, CO and ozone, the lowest exposure to date was measured.The IG-L limit values for the annual mean value for nitrogen dioxide were exceeded at seven measuring points. Exceedances occur at traffic-contaminated sites.In the case of benzo(a)pyrene, sulphur dioxide and dust precipitation (including lead), isolated exceedances were measured in accordance with IG-L.The ozone targets were exceeded in most of Austria.The IG-L limit and target values for fine particulate matter (PM10), carbon monoxide, PM2.5, heavy metals and benzene were met throughout Austria in 2020.The spring lockdown resulted in a significant reduction in nitrogen dioxide and ozone pollution.
