This publication contains the Protocol on the Authentic Quadrilingual Text of the Convention on International Civil Aviation, a multilateral instrument establishing the Russian‑language text as equally authentic to the English, French, and Spanish texts of the 1944 Chicago Convention. Signed in Montréal in 1977 and in force for Canada as of September 16, 1999, the Protocol strengthens the legal integrity and uniform interpretation of the Convention by ensuring equal authenticity across all four official treaty languages.
