Description
This table contains features that represent educational institutions including postsecondary schools and public and private elementary and secondary schools. The data for each type of institution were collected from publicly accessible databases available at National Center for Education Statistics (https://nces.ed.gov/). All data is from 2017-2021 (Postsecondary: 2020-2021; Public: 2019-2020; Private: 2017-2018). Calculations used to estimate annual excess food estimates are described in EPA’s 2023 publication: EPA Excess Food Opportunities Map Version 3 - Technical Methodology. The dataset contains 127,547 institutions.
