Rare tree species Eibe in Germany
Description
The available data on the location, population size, vitality state, age structure and genetic diversity of the egg (Taxus baccata L.) come from a nationwide survey of rare forest tree species in Germany from 2009 to 2012. Using a uniform survey method, rare forest tree species in Germany were recorded, characterised phenotypically and genotypically and evaluated their condition. With the exception of gene centres, all data refer to grid cells with an extension of 5 km x 5 km. Access to factual information and spatial data is limited.
The Federal Institute for Agriculture and Food (BLE) acted on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL). The survey created a basis for the conservation and sustainable use of genetic resources of rare and endangered tree species in Germany. The publication is intended to support the conservation and sustainable use of the tree species Eibe in Germany.
